Due to some reason there may be a requirement to use one PC or laptop in different networks. For example, you received a new laptop on your work, and it is manually configured to use local network settings. When trying to connect, for example to home network, where the IP-configuration settings are received from the ISP, there is a need to enter these settings separately for this connection.
To Configure Alternate TCP/IP Settings:
1. Click [Start], then click on [Control Panel].
2. In the opened window choose [Network Connections] item. Click on it.
3. Choose the connection (e.g. LAN) to configure. Open it.
4. Right click and choose [Propertis] option. The window with properties will open.

5. Then in the This connection uses the following items box, select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] item. Click on [Properties] button.
6. A new window will appear. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically or Use the following IP address. If choosing Use the following IP address enter the correct information from the ISP or network administrator in empty fields.
