How to fix Java Error 1606

This error normally occurs when you are trying to download Java using the online installation procedure. Java.com states that this error indicates that there has been a failure in the Java installation process caused by the InstallShield Wizard. Sometimes, instead of generating the error code 1606. 

To order to fix 1606 error, follow this steps:

Step 1: Try to download the file again after some time.

Step 2: Uninstall older versions of Java and download and install the offline version of Java.

Use the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to uninstall Java. To uninstall older versions of Java using Add/Remove Programs, follow the below listed steps:

It is recommended to use a Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility to remove the unnecessary and irrelevant Java Microsoft Installer (msi) registries.

To use the Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, do the following:
- Go to microsoft.com and download the Microsoft Installer Clean Up file to your desktop 
- Start the installation process by double clicking on the file on the desktop
- After the installation process, start the Windows Install Clean Up utility 
- Under the Installed products list, select the Java version to be removed 
- Click Remove 
- Restart the computer

After you have finished the uninstallation process, you will have to redownload the Java executable again. To do this,
Go to Java.com
Using the download button, start the downloading of the offline version of Java
Install the downloaded Java file
